The bonfire is lit by the newly elected Mayor of Cuckfield – followed by a professionally run firework display, choreographed to music. There will be a host of food and drink stands raising money for the stallholders’ own good causes and, as you would expect at a family event, strictly no alcohol. A fantastic evening in prospect for all the family and, with such a rich history and worthy causes to benefit, this is surely a village tradition worth supporting.

the Old School buildings next to the church. Sue and Bryan Mayou, the current owners of Cuckfield
Park, have kindly continued to allow us to use their grounds and we are very grateful for such a lovely setting.
The event was originally founded by a lady called Jenny, along with others like Tony Arthur, Richard
Woods and other enthusiastic parents from the Holy Trinity School in Cuckfield. Richard Totman
later joined the team providing professional pyrotechnics set to music and this theme continues
today.
The organising group evolved into the Cuckfield Bonfire Society, and the members of the society are
mostly present and past parents of children at Holy Trinity School. New volunteers and helpers are
always welcome.

Car parking is purchasable on the night on the entrance gates at Cuckfield Park on a first come first served basis.
We also have advanced tickets available at Warden Park School which is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Cuckfield Park

Directions
Walking from Warden Park School to Cuckfield Park for the annual bonfire and fireworks event:
Head out of Warden Park School turning left onto Broad Street. The Wheatsheaf pub is to the right if you have time?
Follow Broad Street into the centre of Cuckfield where it curves and becomes The High Street at the mini roundabout, passing Pampa Restaurant where you can enjoy the taste of Argentina with a Mediterranean twist
Turn left at the mini roundabout in the centre of Cuckfield and follow the High Street to the left and through the road closure heading towards the grounds of Cuckfield Park passing The Talbot and White Harte public houses and Cuckfish for food and drink. You will then meet our friendly colleagues who will check your tickets and direct you to the bonfire site.
The walk takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes (around 0.6 miles).
The best driving routes to get to Warden Park are as follows (Avoiding access from Ansty is important as this is the access to Cuckfield Perk and is very very busy)
From the North or West – From the Whitemans Green end of the village
From the South and East – From the Tylers Green end of the village and through Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill
